Blackjack 21 Games

Blackjack, or 21 as it is also known, is a famous card game. You can see it all around the casinos and also on TV and in the movies. Basic 21 has many variants which affect the player’s winning odds and decision making in the game, but don’t have a dramatic impact on the basic flow of the game.

However, this wonderful game also has a family of games which are played all over the globe and have major differences in style with regards to regular 21. Here are some of these games.

Blackjack Switch

This is where two hands are played rather than one hand in regular 21. The player can then switch the cards from the two hands. So if a player is dealt a 10-3 and a King-2, the player can swap the cards to make a King-10.

Double Attack Blackjack

Considered to have more liberal rules of play than normal 21, this game only pays even money for 21. The player is allowed the chance to increase their bet after seeing the dealer’s first card.

Double Exposure Blackjack

The first two of the dealer’s cards are dealt upwards facing and dealer pays out on even money. Tied hands are lost by the player.

Multiple Action Blackjack

The player is allowed 2-3 bets per hand and the dealer gets a new hand for every bet made. This multiplies the action. This is a much more complex game and it holds pretty much the same rules as normal 21.

Pontoon

This is basically the British version of 21 and is still played in Britain as well as some areas of Australia.

Spanish 21

This version is a much more liberal type of 21. It has many stipulations included that make it a very exciting game including bonus pay outs for 21s achieved through a 6-7-8 hand, 21s achieved by a 7-7-7 hand, a five card plus 21 and a late surrender rule. The best bit is, the player always wins on 21.

Vegas Style Blackjack

Perhaps regarded as the most recent addition to the Blackjack family, this version isn’t far different from the main stream game except if a player busts, they have the chance to stay in the game if the dealer busts with a higher total. This, in a way, gives the player a second chance.
